The Erme Estuary

THE BEACHES

The nearest beaches are at Mothecombe on the Erme Estuary only five minutes away. Mothercombe Beach is on one side of the Erme Estuary and Wonwell Beach is on the other, and at low tide it is possible to walk between the two.

The local beaches are quite unspoiled, as nature intended, with soft golden sands and fascinating rock formations. They are lovely for children and sheltered for sunbathing and swimming.

Meadowsfoot Beach

Meadowsfoot Beach is a short walk from Mothecombe. Other sandy beaches nearby include Challaborough, Bigbury and Bantham, which are also popular for wind surfing.
